ACTIVITIES
For those of you who can tear yourselves away from the Finca here are a few suggestions. Please note you will need a car to get to these locations.
Ronda: Spectactular town with the oldest bull ring in Spain and many interesting wineries: 45 minutes
Jerez de la Fontera: The capital of sherry and flamenco: 1 hour 45 minutes
Sevilla: The famous Alcazar and cathedral: 2 hours 20 minutes
Cordoba: The Moorish Mezquita and the old Jewish quarter: 2 hours 45 minutes
Granada: The world famous Alhambra: 2 hours 45 minutes.
Active Tourism
Hiking: there are many accessible hikes around Gaucin (The visitor’s handbook has extensive information and there are several hiking guides in the Finca)
Birdwatching: Gaucin and its surrounding countryside is a bird watcher’s paradise.
Horseback riding, cycling and mountain biking: are all popular and readily available.
Golf: some of the greatest courses in Spain are a mere 35 minutes drive away (Valderrama, Sotogrande, Finca Cortesin and La Reserva to name a few).
